Travis Credit Union, California’s 14th largest credit union with $ 2.8 billion in assets, once again demonstrated its strong commitment to its 189,000 members by delivering digital money management tools powered by by MX.
On September 15, Travis CU launched MYINSIGHT, a digital money management tool that allows members to see all of their accounts in one place, view budgets, track expenses, set goals and prioritize repayment of debts.
The response from members has been overwhelming. In six weeks, Travis reported 93% adoption, over 700,000 member visits to his spending widget – revealing spending in various categories such as home, food and entertainment – and aggregation of over 8,000 external accounts. Members began to review their financial situation in all institutions – checking and savings accounts, credit cards, car loans and mortgages – with Travis as the hub. Active users averaged 16.3 sessions in the first six weeks of implementation.
“We wanted to provide an engaging tool that allows members to take control of their finances and simplify their lives,” said Navneet Khanna, Executive Vice President of Travis Credit Union. “We are delighted that our members are not just trying MYINSIGHT, but gaining knowledge that helps improve their financial lives. “
The success of MYINSIGHT was made possible by the digital, social and agency messaging that was initiated before launch and maintained afterwards. Visitors to the Travis CU website were asked if they had ever wondered how much they spent on purchases or groceries. Ads highlighting money management widgets – such as expenses and debts – appeared with a call-to-action button encouraging members to sign up for online banking services so that they can take advantage of these features. In-branch signage, promotional items and training videos uploaded to branch iPads also increased awareness of MYINSIGHT.
“Marketing and customer education play a critical role in the adoption of money management tools,” said Ryan Caldwell, CEO of MX. “We are delighted to be working with Travis Credit Union and to see their members use MYINSIGHT to propel themselves towards greater financial strength.”
